Perhaps I Can Coax You Into Watching “The Daily Habit” on Fuel TV?
The below is a public service announcement for those with premium cable. Jordan has been working hard to transform this show into something really special, and you should be paying attention.
For about five years now I’ve worked for a television program called “The Daily Habit” on Fuel TV. For most of the show’s life, it’s been primarily an action sports (skateboarding, surfing, etc.) interview show with some comedy bits in between (produced and sometimes hosted by Yours Truly).
The show underwent a pretty major face lift recently. In an effort to attract a more general “young dude who might be into skateboarding, but he doesn’t have to be” audience, the show is now a comedy/talk goof-around. The bulk of the show is a comedy panel discussion, a kind of Chelsea Lately for dudes (I know that description is a little lame, but the only alternate I could think of was “a more punk rock, televised Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me”). I’m a part of the panel every now and then and still host and produce comedy field segments.
In the short time since the format change, we’ve had some pretty awesome guests that come comedy nerd approved. A short list: Jimmy Pardo, Andrew W.K., Casey Wilson, Rob Delaney, Erin Gibson, Jonah Ray, Tess Rafferty, The Cast of “The League,” Moshe Kasher, and Kyle Kinane. It also regularly features LA local comedy heroes Chris Fairbanks, Alison Becker and Hal Rudnick.
It’s all been awesome so far, but the show is having some growing pains. The old audience is (understandably) miffed that their action sports program has gone away and the intended new audience of hip, young comedy fans isn’t really used to tuning into Fuel TV for it’s late night comedy viewing.
The good news is, it won’t take much to turn things around. Since the audience for Fuel TV is relatively small, we won’t need a “Save Chuck Buy a Subway Sandwich” style campaign to get the numbers up, just a few more eyeballs on a regular basis. If you’re interested in helping out you can…
1. Watch the show if you get Fuel TV. It’s on every weeknight at 11:00pm and it repeated a few more times throughout the night. If you’re enjoying the show, why not let the internet know about it? Positive Tweets/Facebooking really goes a long way. (@Daily_Habit and @FuelTV)
2. If you don’t get the network, perhaps check out some clips of the show online? You can’t watch full episodes yet, but good bits from each show are put on youtube the day after they air. This one with Chris Fairbanks is just lovely. Also, I’ll be tweeting about choice guests from time to time. If it’s someone you’re a fan of, a RT is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading dudes.
